I've just ordered this beauty and have no Idea what the filter ring is for the Variocon. Can somebody help me with this, recommending some affordable anamorphic adaptor for this camera?

Will this camera be usable directly for sound synch trought a DAT recorder. We can get a TASCAM D1, not time code for some shooting, and was wondering if the Pilotone generator built in the Nizo Pro will be enough.

Anyway, I'm in love with this camera!.

    cheers

well, if you use a DAT recorder, you'll have no need for pilotone. you might have to shoot wild, or use an analog recorder, or modify the camera for crystal.

The Nizo prof model puts out every kind of sync signal: The standard 1:1 1000 Hz pulses for recording on a free sound track of the tape and feeding later on in any modern pulse syncing system, the ETS 4:1 1000 Hz pulses, specially for the (historic) ETS system, and the 50 Hz pilottone for the (historic) pilot tone system.

The first output, you can record on the track of a tape and if you have an Elmo GS machine, you can playback sound & film in sync with no further equipment (only a pulse amplifyer is needed).

Anamorphotic lens attachements you find at Wittner Kinotechnik as well as holder to fix this attachements to projectors.
